The 132-year history of the building that houses the Meriden Enterprise Center is rooted in woolen goods and ball bearings.
But it was a more modern technology — photovoltaic solar panels — that brought state officials to the sprawling 430,000-square-foot building on Pratt Street that houses a mix of nonprofits and small manufacturers.
Bryan Garcia, president and chief executive officer of Connecticut’s Green Bank, toured the Enterprise Center, including a visit to the roof, where there is a 215-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system that the quasi-public agency helped secure funding for.
